Income Support Program for the Poorest (ISPP) - JAWTNO project is being implemented with jointly financed by the Government of Bangladesh and the World Bank. The beneficiaries of the project are the pregnant women and mothers with children below the age of 5 years from the selected poorest households. The household data will be collected from the National Household Database (NHD) under Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics(BBS). Local Government Division, Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives is the executing agency.
Implementation Period: April 2015 to June 2020
Objectives: The main objectives of the project are to provide income support through the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) to the poorest mothers in selected 43 Upazilas for increasing the mothers’ use of Child Nutrition and Cognitive Development (CNCD) Services and enhancing Union Parishad’s capacity to deliver Social Safety Nets.
Beneficiaries: The project beneficiaries are the pregnant women and mothers with children below the age of 5 years from the poorest households. The targeted beneficiaries are approximately 600,000.
